HOW RANi CAN HELP:

We are here to support parents and carers of SEND children through every step of the journey.

We offer:

Support Groups
Safe, welcoming spaces—both online and in person—where families can share experiences, seek advice, and feel heard.
Zoom Sessions
Informative and accessible sessions covering SEND rights, education support, emotional wellbeing, and more.
WhatsApp Support Network
A 24/7 space for advice, reassurance, and connection with other parents and carers who truly understand.
Social Gatherings
Friendly, informal meetups for mothers and female carers to relax, bond, and build lasting friendships.
SEND Awareness & Advocacy
We work with schools and professionals to raise awareness, break cultural stigmas, and bridge the gap between families and educational settings.
Language Support
We provide interpreting in Urdu and Punjabi, helping families overcome language barriers and better understand their rights.
Signposting to Services
We guide families to trusted organisations and professionals for extra support, ensuring no one is left alone.

If you’d like to find out more or need further support, please feel free to email us at info@rani.org.uk — we’re here to help.

WHAT RANi DOES NOT DO:

RANi is an impartial service and does not have authority over local authority decisions, school policies, procedures, or practices.

❌ As such, we are unable to influence or make decisions on behalf of these bodies.

❌ We will not discuss individual cases without the consent of the parent or young person. Your privacy is important to us, and we only share information with your permission unless there are safeguarding concerns

❌ We are not able to attend all meetings. We will attend where it is necessary and where we have availability. Our aim is to provide support wherever possible, but attendance depends on the nature of the meeting and our capacity at the time.

❌ We do not provide information that is inaccurate or biased. All information we share is factual, impartial, and based on current Education, Health, and Social Care law and guidance.

❌ We do not arrange meetings or take minutes. Our role is to offer support and guidance, but we do not facilitate or record meetings.

❌ We do not tell parents or young people what to do. Our role is to provide clear, impartial information and support so that families can make informed choices and decisions that are right for them.

❌ We do not review benefits forms such as DLA or PIP. For support with benefits, we signpost families to specialist services better equipped to help with these applications.

❌ Take sides during discussions or provide our personal opinions. You can read our impartiality policy on our website.

❌ We do not undertake work that falls outside our remit. However, we will always do our best to signpost you to the appropriate service that can help.

Referring a Parent, Carer, or Young Person to RANi

RANi is a confidential self-referral service.

If a professional or another service wishes to refer a parent, carer, or young person, written consent must be obtained and submitted to RANi in advance. Without this consent, we are unable to make contact with the family.

This is a free service available to parents, carers, and young people who have special educational needs (SEN) or are disabled.
